Future

September 7, 2010 || 9:47pm

I've always planned the future and everything that I want to happen in it. It's very fulfilling to really think about how you want your life to be.

And the same is true with tomorrow, the next month, the fair, Asian Fest, or next year. I want everything planned and settled. The present never matters to me as long as I "know" what will happen.

But after the recollection, this is what I have realized:

The present is the key to your future. Whatever you do now will affect your later or tomorrow. We might plan for our future, which is good, but we must also remember that time passes by and we can never bring it back. We must make the most out of everyday, every minute, and every second because time is a gift from God and we must never waste it.

We can never come back to those times when we could have done something to make our future the way we planned it and then you ask yourself, "Ba't di ko nga ginawa?" My answer: You're probably planning what you want to happen instead of just making it happen.

And another thing: It's perfectly fine to plan what you want to happen in your life but always know that the Lord has his own master plan, the one that's created especially for you. We must not be expecting too much of what we want because we never know; God might have better plans. It's like having a "picture in your mind" of your dream house but you still hire an architect to do the whole design. You sometimes would argue with the architect because he wants a more visually pleasing design that's balanced and symmetrical that would fit your own needs in a house. In the end, you say "yes" to the architect, because he has built so many houses already and he has the knowledge of what's best for your house.

Bottom line: Let's not wait for the day when we would regret not being able to do things that we should have done because of waiting for the right "time". There is no better time than NOW. And we know that we want to get what we want but God gives us what we need. Let the future be. Enjoy the moments. Live, do your best, and serve the Lord in the present because we can never go back. Let tomorrow worry about itself. Your tomorrow will be planned as you build your today.

The future belongs to those who prepare for it today

sa kagustuhan nating hindi na lumipas ang panahon...at pagkakataon.
