Well, you would know what this is about if you read/watch Harry Potter and if you're familiar with the ships associated with it. Harmony, H/Hr, The HMS Pumpkin Pie, Buckbeak? Whatever you call it, we believe that Harry and Hermione are meant for each other.
I haven't read Books 5-7 so I don't really know what happened in them, which makes me a little naive about 'delusional' and other topics that started the more intense shipping wars between R/Hr and H/Hr. But since I hate spoilers, I don't want to check.
But I don't want to know the causes anymore, 'cause I think it's the motivation that matters. What drives supporters of any ship to have our 'wands at the ready' and declare wars like Voldemort's the enemy? I mean, why do people compare their ship's evidences? Is it to make the other ships jealous? Or is it because of our burning passion for our beloved ships? 'Cause I don't see any logic in bashing another person for being for the other ships.
When will all HP fans realize that we are not against each other. JK Rowling did not write seven brilliant books to keep us fighting eternally. We should be united, especially now since the last movie's about to be shown. We love Harry Potter and all the characters in it. They are our heroes. And they're not against each other. They helped each other reach the point of being what they are in the end. Even the villains count. And Harry Potter isn't anything without each and every one of them. And so are ourselves as HP fans. We make up a big community of not only followers, but a family that won't be separated by the end of the films and movies. We are only as strong as we are united, as weak as we are divided.
And as an H/Hr shipper, this is what I have to say about HP shipping, the wars, and the concept of shipping (and H/Hr shipping as well):

And as an H/Hr shipper, this is what I have to say about HP shipping, the wars, and the concept of shipping (and H/Hr shipping as well):
- It all depends on perspective. I learned this in the past school year but it has affected my thinking so much and it is so relevant to this matter so I put it here. We read between the lines and look beyond what the naked eye sees. All shippers do that. And as H/Hr shippers, we might not be as lucky to find as many 'evidences' as R/Hr, but in our perspective, between the lines, H/Hr is in love. So why argue on that if all of us, coming from different backgrounds and ideals, look at and perceive things differently? Our ideas of Harry, Hermione, and Ron, in all of our minds, no matter how clear JK Rowling described them in the books, are different and we can't stop that from happening. We love the characters because we know that in our own minds, they are real. And they can't be real without any personal knowledge of them, and what they have done so far, in the books, and in our own interpretations of those doings. So let's all agree that the way we see things in the Potter world is so different individually or ship-wise. And we need not modify others' perception by debating and slapping on to their faces the 'facts' that our ship reveals. 'Cause everything, again, depends on perspective. Even reality. So deal with it.
- Being in harmony (literally) with the other ships, could be like heaven if we just welcome it. Ships are not made to be argued and debated about. Just because JK Rowling enjoys the arguments does not mean that they have to be so violent and uncivil. For example, this is an argument about the necessity of ships and H/Hr's importance in our lives, but I mean nothing against those who think otherwise. It's just that simple. We love our ships because we just do. We think that H/Hr has a strong bond and that bond is enough for us to think that they are in
secretlyin love. That is our stand. And we need not compare our stand with the others' for it is ours and it makes us special and united. Because if we do, everything that we think would be changed just because other people think otherwise. Even if we don't admit it, we tend to become more eager to prove that our ship is better. We need more tolerance in this world and I mean it. We don't just ship because we think that this is better than the others, but we ship because we just love them. And Harry, Hermione, and Ron, don't even have fights concerning their relationships, so what right do we have? - Our personal treatments of other ships and ours do matter. Some R/HR shippers are at peace with H/Hr shippers while some are fighting. We can't blame the fighting on the love of the characters, can we? We can't blame it on JK Rowling for being the author and having her own stand on who marries who, can we? But who are we forgetting here? Who causes the shipping wars? Aren't they the people who ship themselves? Well, I didn't mean every single one, for I know that many are peaceful in their own worlds. But I do believe that it depends on us whether these wars would go on or not. Are we constantly looking for an adrenaline rush that we need to bash other ships for the sake of just having a reason to type swear words and the word 'delusional' on each other's posts? Well, we can just go mountain climbing or dueling with lions (or Voldemort) if we want to, can't we? To clarify this further, let me ask you, if he had a ship, what would Dumbledore do? Considered as our resident wise man, he wouldn't fight other ships, right? So let's just live by his example and understand our differences for something binds us together. Not just our ships or fanon, but ultimately, the magic of Harry Potter.
- We mostly live in democracies and support freedom of speech, but we are educated enough to know what's right to say, and what offends. Seriously, we were given the right to freedom of speech and expression, but that is accompanied by a responsibility of not only protecting your own reputation, but respecting others' opinions as well. That said, I think this is pretty self-explanatory.
- Shipping gives us an opportunity to exemplify the values of faith, hope, and love. We believe in the ship. We hope that things happen between the characters. And we love the pairing, and our fellow shippers. Harry Potter is a broader and more complex community, but I believe shipping is not all negative if we just consider our stands and motivations. Faith, hope, and love unite us and our love for the pairing. And may it also unite other ships as one family under the magic of the Potterverse.
- This will be the first and last bullet that contains H/Hr. We, Harmonians, believe that Harry and Hermione are in love even if canon
supposedlydenies it in the Epilogue of Deathly Hallows. We still keep on believing that there is a love that binds them greater than friendship does. What we see may be different from what others see but that's the essence of shipping; we are all different. Harry and Hermione in our eyes are perfect for each other and that's that. Even if we don't enumerate reasons, we love them just for being them, and maybe, not together in canon, but as our perspectives say, we know that the fire will forever be burning, even after DH Part 2 or the books are over. And even if the truth for other people is different, this, for us, is the truth. The love between them, in our eyes and hearts, are undeniable, and 'delusional' won't bring that down. We can't say that we don't care when other people express their opinions against our ship, or that we aren't affected by them, but we know that our ship shields a love that is eternal. That kind of defense is enough. Defense, for me, does not mean defending the ship against bashers just 'cause we love them, but defense is shielding the flame of love between Harry and Hermione from the wind that ever desires to extinguish it. We don't need to be against the wind for we know that standing hand in hand and offering our own bodies as shields (or in this case, our posts about them and our undying love for them), is enough to keep it burning. In the darkness, we see light in the form of that flame, and we won't let it die, for Harry and Hermione, in our eyes, will forever be in love.
We can fight only by showing an equally strong bond of friendship and trust. Differences of habit and language are nothing at all if our aims are identical and our hearts are open.
