April

Out of the itching desire to create a post out of nothing, here I am with the least bit of idea as to what I'm supposed to write. Last time I blogged was almost two months ago. That's sad, because I promised myself I'd be writing more after school has ended but turns out something has just begun that again got in the way.

Summer! I've been spending the half of it preoccupied in what most upcoming Year IV students are spending their summers with - review class. Let's just say the "last free summer before college" didn't work, and studying was still part of the agenda of my summer's first half.

Three weeks of innumerable shaded circles filled my world, along with my first experiences of commuting to and from Katipunan to get to the review center. And I did take it seriously. I just feel like I'm really privileged to be enrolled in a review center considering that it's not really a requirement if you want to pass; for all we know, millions out there are dreaming of colleges as much as we are, but have no choice but to make the most of self-studying. I was really blessed to have learned so much, especially in Math! (Didn't expect to like Trig but I did!) Anyway, it was a really fun time - getting to be away from your comfort zone for a while and trying to make some friends while keeping the goal in place.

Ladies and non-ladies, this is my review class (with our amazing Math teacher who miraculously made me so engaged in Math lessons). They're a really great bunch and although dead air was the frequent visitor (it was a quiet, quiet place); I've made friends with most of them, unfortunately, most on the last day. I wish I got to know them more and that we were less sabaw after every meeting. It was a pleasant experience solving Math and racking our brains for vocabulary and phyla we can't even remember.

For the first days of April, I decided to give the great outdoors a gander. I've been biking, taking photos of anything and everything, watching the sunset, and of course, buying food; while enjoying the beautiful vista. Aye, this is a sign that I've had too much of The Sims 3. Heehee.

I've been reading more often too, thankfully, time has been on my side lately. Sometimes, I just feel so lazy to pick a book up and start reading. But I've been quite motivated by my recent achievement - finishing Order of the Phoenix! All though I did it on the plane to Doha, it certainly gripped my attention and reminded me of what books meant to me. I've been noticing a change in my preferences, though. I'm starting to be a bit more critical when it comes to the books I read. That's a good thing, yes. Exploring many genres is finally taking its effect on my mind.

As for writing, it's completely the opposite. I have been working on a new novel (please let me finish this), but it hasn't been moving since I left the country a week ago. My journal has been left untouched since I last wrote an entry about review classesI also need to work on the script that I have to finish before school starts. Creative juices, please come around soon. Most of the time, I just can't get into the writing mood. I'd rather eat and slack off instead watching series and spending my time on social networking sites. Why must I be so time-wasting? Why?

Another thing; football has almost been number one on my list these past few weeks because I really woke up at ungodly hours to watch FC Barcelona play in the Champions League and in the Liga. Unfortunately, victory wasn't on our side this time and they got defeated by Torres' lucky strike. I've been waiting for David Villa's comeback too but he doesn't seem to be too well yet. Look, he doesn't even have a CL Final to come back to. He's still one of my favorite strikers, nonetheless. Messi is still number one, though. Always and forever. I still can't get over the fact that Pep Guardiola's leaving. I was affected by it too much than expected; I didn't take the news too lightly. Well, I shall write about that too soon.

And as I've mentioned, I left the Philippines a week ago to go here - Doha. I've missed this place, really. It's a beautiful, peaceful country that will help you appreciate more of what you have in ways you never imagined. I'll blog about that too when the writing bug comes on again. It's been great writing this long post. I think it could make up for the lack of posts last month. Well, I have to go and get a nap before tea time. Adios. :)
