And so, we're only five days away from Jesus' birthday! It's amazing how fast time flies. I still remember how it was last year and I'm just so astounded how 12 months just passed in front of me like a crowd in the rush hour, and I was just sitting there inactively on a bench thinking that life would forever wait for me. But God commanded people and events to get me out of my rut, and for that, I now welcome a new year with a beginning that I hope, would tune out some aspects that went awry.
So today, I was supposed to be studying. I can't tell you how many supposed tos don't actually happen in reality, and today's study-genda was one of those. I got tired of looking for my filler notebook (I've been misplacing a lot of things lately) so instead, I decided to open the gifts given by people in school. And because I'm currently obsessed with taking pictures of anything and everything, here they are: Presents 2011!
From Julia, my Kris Kringle mommy: bookmarks, a pretty storage box, and two notebooks. Yes, she's the best mommy ever and I'm Stardust. No, not Neil Gaiman's Stardust. More like someone else's Stardust. About that, I shall blog later. But these are some gifts that would forever be treasured in this crooked heart.
From Ariane: the cutest and most adorable cow in the universe, though still unnamed. She found out I had this special connection with cows so she said she would associate cows with me forever, and so we have this unnamed cow that I hold so dear.
From Bianca: this Toy Story-themed notepad that has a lot of designs for writing notes and doodles. My eyes should have been glittering when they first met this pretty thing. I don't know if I can use it, though. I might just preserve it for collection purposes.
From Miss (our TIC): A violet Stabilo Pen. So this is why she was asking for our favorite colors... Haha!
And last but not the least, Carmela's gift. I was so touched when she handed me the notebook but what really mattered was what was written inside the envelope;
Yes, she gave me this card that had so much written inside it that made me so kilig when I read it. I wouldn't expound on the details, but it was just so heartwarming to know that someone cared that much.
...and some other food items that have perished long before the gift-opening ceremonies. Heehee.
What else have I been doing on the twentieth?
I've been chilling with the omnipresent Coco and the Crew aka my workstation buddies. I just realized that I've owned this blog for over a year and I haven't introduced them! Well, Coco here, is my Sony Vaio that's colored chocolate, hence the name. Too bad he can't shake hands with you. And he's a very good companion during the cold months, especially if he serves his real purpose (as a laptop...hehe). There's my water bottle, which is also one of the things I can't live without (or maybe it's water...I don't know), and the book of wisdom and life that feeds my soul. And so you've met the crew. Let's move on to some of my other friends.
These are my newest (and first) stamp sets. Haha! Who would have thought I'd fall into the trap of impulsively buying cute things? Maybe I haven't been tested well enough... Dear college budget, get ready to die. Anyway, these stamp sets are no waste of money. I've tested them on my Day 4 photo and it turned out really great (or so I think). Here it is: Day 4: Sophistication.
And a lot of my still unwritten letters to people that were unfortunately, not given before classes ended; and an important one in particular that has to be sent through email. I wish people had telepathic connections so I could tell them immediately what I wanted to tell them in the most sincere and spontaneous way possible. But like most things, I guess we would have to make do with what reality can provide.
Well, I think that's most of what happened during my study-or-not day. I'll still be studying tomorrow, and I really hope that I'd be productive because I really have to finish things before I finally say hello to the holidays. I'm getting my Barca jersey really soon! I am beyond excited. That's all for today. Good night, and happy holidays!
