Learning

The past month has been really big for me in so many ways. I can't believe that November is just around the corner now and it seems just yesterday, I was wishing that October won't come. For now, I'm enjoying the pace and the stillness, because time doesn't go slower or faster. You just become more or less aware of it, and knowing that somehow, all of it will soon end is the only thing that you can think of to guarantee appreciation and happiness in the moment.

Well, four days have passed since my Sabbatical began, and I'm learning quite a lot. Let me share with you some lessons I've learned so far in this journey:

1. Learn to laugh at your mistakes.
2. The building is yours, but God holds the Master Blueprint. Let Him be the architect of your future. He knows what's best for you.
3. Things that you didn't get were not meant for you. Accept that, and remember that God has reasons.
4. Don't disregard your experiences as factors in contributing to who you are. They are part of what comprise the self that you have been trying to look for or create.
5. Live in the here and now. Today was meant to be lived.
6. Trust God.
7. Your childhood dreams are not those which you came up with when you were a child. Your childhood dreams are those that tell you that you should live a life out of what makes you happy, regardless of what the world says about you or your choices.
8. Following your heart is letting your passion and intuition drive your decisions.
9. When faced with a forkpath, pray.
10. Your self is never lost. Sometimes, it may not be understood, but your mind responds to how you want to think, and you just have to be open to the things that you do not want to know about yourself. In that way, you'll really understand who you are.
11. Happiness is always there. You just have to see every single blessing that you have and know that all of what you have are enough to make you happy.
12. It's all right to have desires. Just don't let them control you.
13. You have a life. Live it.
14. You only go through every moment once.
15. Do your best, but let God do the rest.
16. Establish a stable, unfaltering connection with the Big Man Upstairs. His signal is always strong, but sometimes, it's our faith that loses battery.
17. Embrace your uniqueness, but don't waste your life trying to diverge from society to the point that you reject even the people who are reaching out to you.
18. Live your life as an instrument of God to touch other people's lives.
19. It's all right to prepare your plan for the future, but prepare to accept God's plan too.
20. You can find inspiration everywhere.
